My chat with Comcast
I told Janette what I was wanting to do, which was cancel Showtime from my account. She asked me to hold while she accessed my account.
Janette: Thank you for waiting.
Janette: Just a heads up, we charge one time change of service fee $1.99 for this transaction. Fees will be apply next month bill.
Jeff: What? Why in the world would you do that?
Janette: Jeff, every upgrade, downgrade or any changes made on the account, one time service fee apply.
Janette: This is to complete your request and update your account.
Jeff: Wow, that's just absurd. Have you heard about how banks and Verizon had to cancel ridiculous fees like that because customers got so upset?
Janette: I understand. However, fees are system generated to remotely update your account.
Jeff: Remotely updating my account? You ARE Comcast...how is that remotely updating my account? They need to come up with better BS wording than that, Janette. Well, it's not your fault. But please tell your bosses to tell their bosses that customers are really starting to resent getting nickled and dimed.
Jeff : Please go ahead and process this request.
Jeff: I wonder if Comcast will start charging you a service fee to remotely access the cable signal each time you turn on your TV...
Janette: Jeff, let me check if I can process one time credit for one time fee.
Janette: Thank your for waiting.
Janette: I can process a one time credit for $1.99 change of service fee.
Jeff: Thanks, I appreciate that.
Janette: I sure hope I was able to attend to all your requests and answer your queries. Is there anything else that I can help you with today?
Jeff: Nope, thanks for your help, Janette. Keep fighting The Man. Us little people have got to stick together. Occupy! Have a great day, Janette.
Janette: You are most welcome.
